Jan’s Story

I suffered with C. difficile for 12 months. It was a miserable year. It impacted most of my day with very frequent trips to the bathroom; some days were worse than others. It would wake me at night, disturbing my sleep pattern. I was afraid to go out socially in fear that I would infect others. My quality of life was greatly reduced.

It took three months to obtain the correct diagnosis. Treatment worked only while I was taking the medication, once off it would return quickly. After the fecal microbiota transplantation, I was 100% better. It has now been four years since I have had to deal with this issue.

My life is back to as normal as possible. I honestly believe that the intestinal microbiota transplantation was the reason for my recovery. Any and all other treatments failed for me. Intestinal microbiota transplantation was the solution to my problem. I haven’t had an issue for four years now.

I totally appreciate the care I received during this time of my life. The people that I worked with were great. I felt like they really cared about my recovery. I was given clear explanations and reasoning for each level of care, including follow up. Due to their knowledge of C. difficile and effective medical care, I have recovered. I honestly do not think that would have been the outcome without the fecal microbiota transplantation.
