Flora’s Story

Over the course of seven months, I endured five trips to the emergency room and four rounds of Vancomycin. My normal life became non-existent. I could no longer attend family and social events due to pain, diarrhea, weakness, dehydration, and other medical conditions. I no longer could eat the foods I enjoy. I would always worry that the next day could be a trip to the emergency room.

Intestinal microbiota transplantation has allowed me to begin getting my life back. I can eat regular foods; however, I am always aware that overindulgence can have setbacks and consequences (pain). After FMT I have had no indications of C. diff.

I am grateful that I was finally sent to Dr. Khoruts and the team. After the FMT I noticed an immediate change. I know recovery can take a long time. My only regret is that I couldn’t have gotten the transplant sooner. It’s been reassuring that when I needed to ask questions and talk you’ve always responded.
